Work Placements for Public Relations Students
The Public Relations Work Placement Programme provides students with invaluable opportunities to learn more about PR from professional practitioners.  It prepares them for their first post graduate appointments and develops their understanding of the range of career paths open to them.

Work placement is a very important aspect of the BA Hons course in Public Relations.  It enables students to compare known theory with real practice, identify and develop key/transferable skills and to develop new theory based on the practice they observe.

Typically, students who undertake this module regard it as very important both to their understanding of public relations as an academic subject and for future employability.

Completing the assignments that relate to the work placement experience allows students to complete academic assignments that demonstrate the learning and skill that have been acquired as a result of this experience.

Placement Providers
Organisations that offer placements to students can also derive considerable benefit from the experience.  Placement students bring a fresh eye, new ideas and knowledge of contemporary theory.  They are able to undertake a wide range of tasks that can support the public relations activity of the organisation and they are able to develop new resources for the organisation through research and consultancy.
