Student Volunteering

Image of Big Arts Day volunteers Thinking about volunteering, well you've come to the right place. UCP Marjon can offer you a vast range of opportunities that will get you hooked and of course enable you to give something back to your local community. Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends, especially if you are a new student at UCP Marjon and the projects you can get involved in are exceptionally rewarding and certainly lots of fun.

All higher education institutions have received funding to increase the level of volunteering amongst students so this just proves that volunteering is one of the key factors in improving your employability skills.

Student volunteering is important and has wide-ranging benefits for students, UCP Marjon and the community. No other activities benefit so many people in so many ways and the Governments recognition of this has been most welcome over recent years.

Through our your time here at UCP Marjon we hope that you will discover that volunteering is not only fun, and beneficial to our local community but also a valuable learning experience for developing interpersonal, problem solving, self-application and personal reflection skills which looks great on your CV and will impress potential employers.

You are not alone when it comes to volunteering as currently over 42,000 students volunteer through organised volunteering programmes at HEI’s throughout the UK and Marjon strives to offer you a wide range of opportunities that will get you hooked.

We hope you have a brilliant time and find these pages a useful guide to volunteering especially when you read about what other students have achieved!

Good luck
