1. Programme Title
Change Management in Education
(MEd/PGDip/PGCert)
2. Duration
o Full-time: one year at UCP Marjon (October-September)
o Part-time: up to three years on a modular basis in UCP Marjon in Plymouth ( or for a group in their own country with direct teaching and on-line support).
3. Entry Requirements
A good 1st degree (Bachelor level) and two or more years of relevant experience. In addition, those applicants whose mother tongue is not English will need to provide evidence of proficiency in the language (e.g. IELTS, minimum 6.5; i BT 100; TOEFL 570 – written version). Also, applicants may wish to seek recognition for prior learning or achievement at universities and other HE institutions or approved professional bodies.

5. Programme Overview
Change Management in Education is designed for senior education professionals, managers and trainers concerned with the development of new programmes, systems and directions in education provision at all levels. Depending on the specific requirements of individuals and project groups, participants can acquire
o Specific knowledge, skills and awareness to manage the change process
o Leadership and strategic capacities to initiate and guide change
o Understanding of educational cultures and the effect of change.

Either Dissertation (20,000 words)(60 credits) or Practitioner Research (30 credits) and Professional Study (10-12,000 words)(30 credits)
7. Teaching, Learning and Assessment
The modules are taught in a variety of ways with an emphasis on active learning methods appropriate for adult education in small to medium-sized groups. These include interactive skills-training sessions, seminars, discussion groups and reading syndicates, supported by lectures where appropriate. Each module is assessed by means of written assignments and portfolio tasks. Assignments link theory and practice and include research-driven elements, as well as requiring appropriate background reading. Portfolio tasks invite participants to develop their capacities as learners.
