BA (Hons) Outdoor Adventure Education 2 Year Accelerated Programme

Introduction

This is a new programme being developed for 2012 entry.

This programme is an accelerated version of the 3 year BA Outdoor Adventure Education course.  As such, the content will be similar however delivered in 2 rather than 3 years, making use of a summer session.

A two-year accelerated degree at UCP Marjon allows students the opportunity to study a full Honours degree in two years.

This 2 year programme offers an advantage in fast tracking your degree studies, enabling you to complete a 3 year programme in 2 years  – saving you not only time and money, but also showcasing to employers your ability to work to an exceptionally high standard under the pressure of an accelerated programme.

Why study an accelerated Outdoor Adventure Education degree?

  • This programme is ideal if you are looking to return to study but cannot afford to take three years out of work
  • Employment opportunities; anyone who is prepared to work intensively to complete a full Honours degree in two years is going to stand out from other applicants
  • Maximises opportunities for work based learning in the summer months
  • Reduce debt: One year's less study means you are saving one year's tuition fees and living costs

The Outdoor Adventure Education programme makes a valuable contribution to the intellectual and professional development of outdoor practitioners. It has a strong educational and vocational commitment, enabling students to undertake work in a range of outdoor contexts. Key elements of the programme are; experiential learning, journeying, outdoor environments, coaching, leadership and outdoor facilitation skills.
