The MTL is a part-time three year course
Entry Requirements
Normally, candidates will be expected to have a good first degree and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Module Information
The MTL Programme has been designed to enable participating teachers to:
- be supported in their professional learning
- develop an open and questioning mindset
- become highly effective classroom practitioners
- identify the next steps in their professional development pathway
- learn collaboratively from and with others in and beyond the school
How is the MTL structured?
The programme is modular and credit based with each module building on the last to enable a series of exit awards or the full Masters degree. There are three Professional Learning Phases to the MTL programme:
- Phase 1: Developing
- Phase 2: Broadening and embedding
- Phase 3: Deepening
- Phase 1 consists of two modules which will develop your skills of enquiry. In Phase 2 the four 20-credit modules focus on the core content areas, including personalised learning, curriculum knowledge and development, child development and inclusion, and working collaboratively with the wider school workforce.
- Phase 3 consists of two 30-credit modules which enable you to deepen your professional knowledge by undertaking specialist study.
