Preparation for interview
In order to prepare for the interview, all applicants for English are asked to:
- Access/read the Non-statutory National Framework for KS3 English on http://betterre.reonline.org.uk/
- Access /read Local Agreed Syllabus for your Local Authority
- Visit Reonline or TeachREwebistes and read the guidance provided on effective teaching and learning of RE.
Applicants are asked to choose one of the two Attainment Targets either Learning About or Learning From – and to talk about what they found of interest/importance in a 5 minute presentation. Unfortunately, within the remit of the interview, there are no OHT/Powerpoint facilities, but applicants are expected to present as if there were, and provide the two Tutors attending with copies of slides etc. Applicants will also be asked to discuss an unseen picture and artefact in an informal way with the interviewers.
