Over 70 UCP Marjon staff came forward to take part in a Valentine Rowathon in aid of the British Heart Foundation.  The aim of the day was to raise money and awareness of the services that BHF support.

9 teams were rowing from 10am until 3pm in the main dining hall, supported by their friends and colleagues. The rowathon raised just under £250.

The event was organised by Faye Hatherley-Edwin and the Marjon Social Action group which started in 2004.  To date, the group have raised over £12,000 for a number of charities.

On Friday 29th February UCP Marjon will be hosting a Country & Western evening for the BHF starting at 8pm in the main dining hall.  Staff, students and the general public are welcome. Fee is £3 on the door.

Faye said

“This is turning into an annual event for UCP Marjon, we are delighted that so many staff and students are taking time out to be involved.  We hope to repeat these events next year”
