Equality Impact Assessment
Equality impact assessment or equality analysis (EIA, EqIA or EA) is an analysis of the potential or actual effect of a policy, practice, provision or criterion on identifiable groups of people. Carrying out EIAs not only help us meet the requirements of legislation but also support the University College in promoting and advancing equality.
Current legislation requires all public sector bodies and institutions to ensure that decisions they take do not adversely affect individuals covered by the 'Protected Characteristics' outlined in the Equality Act 2010. UCP Marjon is currently progressing EIAs in priority areas and the physical outcome of these assessments are being published on our website as work is being completed. This publication provides individuals with a chance to review our equality analysis and feedback to us on our equality work.
If you have any concerns or would like to become involved in the equality work we are doing in this area, please contact the Inclusion Co-ordinator at ltout@ucpmarjon.ac.uk.
Student Assessment Methods - Equality Impact Assessment Work
Faculty of Sport, Media and Creative Arts EIAs
During 2010 a number of preliminary assessments were carried out by staff in the Faculty of Sport, Media and Creative Arts on their programmes. These preliminary assessments helped Programme Leaders understand what further work would need to be done to ensure equality across teaching and learning within these programmes. The preliminary assessments can be reviewed here. When full assessments have been completed they will also be added.
If you would like to comment on any of the work which has been done or get involved in the full assessments you can contact the Equality & Diversity Co-ordinator in the first instance at ltout@marjon.ac.uk.
